Foundation Portfolio - Planning
Sound -
Sound is going to be a major factor in this film as we do not have to nearly as much camera shot editing as our film is going to be a one take shot.
Slow but intense music is going to be in the background of the film to fit the atmosphere of a slow suspenseful rise.
Filming the sound is going to be a struggle as of the one take aspect. But we are working around this by attaching the microphone to the camera to make it easily transportable, it also means it does not get in the way.
Lighting -
For our lighting we have planned to have minimal lighting where our guests are to help create the suspense. However this take can also be leading the audience more towards the romantic side of the movie.
This is the type of lighting we are going for in having in our film. However this made a problem with filming as this amount of lighting meant it was hard to film especially when trying to keep it natural. Our solution to this was using the lighting built into the building and not using any artificial light equipment used for filming. The lighting we used was minimalistic which will help the audience focus on the main character and what is actually happening.
Story Board -
Talia - mood board, talent, props, costumes, concept
Rejoice - script, shot-list, director
Gino - camera, treatment, location
Judah - sound, lighting, storyboard
Practice Shot -
In our practice shot I was able to gauge the lighting that will need to be used in our actual film shoot. I noticed that i was able to fully control the lighting by using the built in lights in the building. No artificial lighting equipment was needed. For instance in the kitchen the natural lights are very bright meaning everything can be seen clearly. Then when the camera goes into the room where the guests are it has minimal low lighting, however this works because it helps give a romantic feeling to our film.
